Through the years, Tommy has competed in the Americas Cup, Maxi World Championships and countless one-design regattas, from One Design 50’s, Mumm 36’s, Farr 40’s and TP 52’s.

Tommy grew up in a Coast Guard Family traveling a lot as a youngster and was always on the water. He became a professional surfer in his early teens but was also sailing whenever he could.

Big-boat regattas have always been on Tommy’s schedule and his experience includes successful bids aboard everything from the Maxi’s Kialoa III & IV, Mini Maxi Mistress Quickly to TP 52’s Atalanti and Anema Core.

Time on the water worldwide also provided the experiences of different cultures through out the world. Being a competitor and being involved with eight world championships taught him structure, discipline and team work.

Tommy’s experience competing in the professional ranks also translated to his work. During his years in running boats and managing full race programs and collecting over 480,000 miles at sea and has spent times at different boatyards familiarizing is self with the best boatyards and people worldwide.

In 2004 Tommy established TM Yachts, Rigging & Consulting LLC. With years of experience in racing, blue-water sailing, powerboats and management, he felt it was time to start his own business where he could translate is knowledge and expertise to his clients worldwide.

After spending the better part of three decades managing an assortment of rigging shops, marine hardware manufactures and spar manufactures, Tommy added his rigging shop up on Lake Norman in Mooresville, NC and working closely with doing all the rigging work for All Season Boatyard while still supplying his customers worldwide from Grand Prix, Club Racing, Cruising to Blue Water Sailing. Tommy also has been working closely in collaboration of New Sails with Chesapeake Sailmakers out of Annapolis MD and with Custom Stack-Packs for mainsail enclosure. With in depth knowledge of cordage and his military up bring from his father gave him the drive to also sort out some military special forces repelling rope contracts over the years.

His in-depth knowledge of both sailboats- and powerboats needs gives his clients a comfortable level that their best interests are his first priority.
